This week we celebrated Dr Seuss' Birthday by having a Dr Seuss themed day in class. We dressed up as different characters from his books and took part in lots of fun activities. We filled balloons with paint then threw them at a giant 'Thing 1' to burst and make his hair blue, we made Cat in the Hat pizzas and Thing 1/2 cakes, we made green eggs in science and watched them fizz over as well as lots of crafts, counting, instruction and colour matching games. We also did a Dr Seuss themed sensology where we played with green eggs, tasted ham and smelt fish.

To celebrate 'Love Week' we had a special Beauty and the Beast themed day consisting of a rich task to find the different Beauty and the Beast characters that were hiding in different feely boxes, tasting and smelling different items linked to the story/tea party. We had lots of fun matching these to our clues in our investigation books. We did lots of different literacy, numeracy, art and science activities linked to Beauty and the Beast throughout the day, then ended with a Beauty and the Beast tea party where we had a special visit from Princess Belle (from Fairytale Moments) who came to our party, read us a story and had photos taken with us. We all had a magical day!
