Thrive

What is Thrive

Thrive is a systematic approach to identify and address emotional developmental needs. By doing this, we can help to build resilience and resourcefulness, decrease the risk of mental illness and reinvigorate learning.

Thrive consists of an online screening tool to assess emotional and social skills, as well as tailored strategies and activities to address specific learning targets.

Thrive can make learning more accessible to all, more effective and more fun. It enhances emotional literacy and directly contributes to learning power.

At Pen-y-Bryn, positive relationships underpin everything we do.
Thrive is a whole school approach that allows us to ensure our pupils feel safe, feel special and that their needs are being met.
We currently have 5 licenced Thrive practitioners at Pen-y-Bryn who provide right time and reparative intervention work with pupils. All pupils at Pen-y-Bryn have a termly wellbeing target to support them to be happy and emotionally resilient young people.
We are working towards achieving Thrive Ambassador status and our future goal is to become a Thrive school of excellence.
