Spring Term 2024
The Criw Cymraeg have worked very hard this term to support the planning of our Eisteddfod. They spent a lot of time and effort practising a traditional Welsh folk dance and performing this at the Eisteddfod. They also led the Welsh National Anthem. Our Eisteddfod was brilliant and everyone worked super hard on their class performances and on their competition entries. Everyone enjoyed celebrating Wales and the Welsh language. We have also continued to work towards our Siarter Iaith targets, for example, by creating our own posters to show the advantages of learning and speaking Welsh. We have also enjoyed exploring the Welsh language through different stories and songs. Some of our Criw Cymraeg also spoke in a Governors meeting sharing all about our club, what we have been doing and our recent Eisteddfod. Da iawn Criw Cymraeg!
Spring term 2023
We are the new KS3 and KS4 Criw Cymraeg for this academic year. We have started to look at the Silver award for the Siarter Iaith, and will be working towards achieving this. We are currently working towards Target 1, focusing on our Welsh displayed around our school. During our walk around upper and lower school, we observed lots of Welsh words and phrases. These help to support us to speak Welsh daily. We were very excited to hold our Eistedfodd this term altogether. We celebrated our wonderful country Wales by speaking Welsh, singing Aderyn Melyn and other Welsh songs, sharing our own Welsh poems and much more. Da iawn pawb.
Summer term 2023
The Criw Cymraeg have been working hard to achieve the targets for Target 1 of the Silver award for the Siarter Iaith. We have been practising different Welsh phrases, making posters to add to our Welsh school display and have created a new Croeso sign to be displayed in the office to welcome everyone to our school. We are enjoying our Criw Cymraeg sessions and exploring the Welsh language.
At the end of the summer term, we have completed and achieved Target 1 of the Siarter Iaith. Da iawn Criw Cymraeg.
