Thursday 7th January 2021

This term, our theme is' Food Glorious Food'. Today we will be reading the story 'Oliver's Vegetables' watch the video below to see me reading the story. Use the communication board to discuss what happens in the story, particularly the days of the week and the vegetables Oliver finds.

Good morning everyone and Happy New Year, I hope you are all staying safe and well. For today's home learning I would like to know all about what you have been doing in the holidays. Watch the video to find out what I have been up to! You can send me a video on Dojo, make a picture, do some writing or show me some photographs you have taken. Ask an adult to help you share your work with me, I look forward to seeing all your wonderful holiday news!

In class, we have been practising our counting skills every day. What can you find at home that you can count? 

You can also continue learning to count with The Numberblocks. Watch their Christmas counting video below and try some of the activities, games and songs on the Numberblocks website by clicking here.

2nd - 6th November 2020

Reading/Literacy: We have been using Reading Eggs in class and have really enjoyed playing the fun reading games. You can download the free app from the app store or access Reading Eggs online by clicking here. If you have forgotten the log in details, please send a message via Dojo.

Maths: In class, we have been watching Numerblocks videos to help us learn maths in an exciting way. Watch the Fireworks Night episode below. There are lots of fun activities to accompany the videos available here. 

We have also had lots of fun counting using the app 'Feed The Monkey' which is available to download for free on Apple and Android devices.

Topic Work: Thursday is Bonfire Night. Watch this video to find out why we celebrate Bonfire Night. I will send some exciting firework related activities daily via Dojo.

Reading/Literacy: A Reading Eggs account has been set up for each pupil. You will be sent a Reading Eggs log in via Class Dojo. You can access Reading Eggs by clicking here or downloading the app and logging in using the details you will be sent. 

Maths: You will be sent a NumBots log in via Class Dojo. You can access NumBots by clicking here or downloading the app and logging in using the details you will be sent. 

Topic Work:  We have been reading The Lion King and learning about African animals. You can use the San Diego Zoo website to learn all about different types of African animals by clicking here.

Can you make an African Safari picture? Click here to colour in an African safari picture or create your own!

A symbolised copy of The Lion King story is available on our Class Story on Class Dojo. We will be sending out a new activity daily via Dojo.

Exciting Extras: We have been learning the Makaton signs for 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' from The Lion King. You can learn the signs by following this video!

In class last week we made moon sand to play with. Follow the instructions on this video to make some for at home!
